True Temper Sports, the golf shaft manufacturer, announced two key promotions of members of the research and development team. Neal Haas has been named vice president of composite engineering and development and Greg Cavill as vice president of alloy engineering and development.
 
In their new roles, Haas and Cavill will be responsible for the design and development of new products as well as expansion of True Temper's engineering capabilities. They will also oversee all product testing, ongoing technology and materials research and the overall management of True Temper's global technical facilities. Haas and Cavill's promotions are part of True Temper's commitment to expand and drive the growth in the golf shaft and performance sports categories.

Haas has been with True Temper for 13 years, serving as global director of engineering and research for all composite products for golf and performance sports. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from New Mexico State University, and has extensive experience in both the sporting goods and defense industries. Hass will be located in True Temper’s California technical facility.
 
Cavill joined True Temper in 2004 as design engineer responsible for steel golf shaft design and development. Most recently, he served as global director of engineering and research for metals and alloy products. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering with honors from the Coventry University School in the United Kingdom, and will reside in the soon-to-be-opened metal design facility in Memphis, Tenn.
