Trigon Sports, based in Memphis, TN, announced the acquisition of Proper Pitch, Inc., the U.S. manufacturer of pitching mounds and baseball training aids headquartered in Fuquay-Varina, NC.
Proper Pitch has been operating since the mid-1990s, with Glen Passner as its owner since 2002.
Following the acquisition, Trigon Sports will transition the manufacturing operations of Proper Pitch products to its Memphis facility, enhancing efficiency while maintaining quality and craftsmanship.
“The acquisition of Proper Pitch represents an important milestone in the continued growth of our organization. Our relationship with Glen and his company spans more than two decades, and we have long recognized the quality and reputation of the Proper Pitch brand,” said Chris Bawcum, managing partner of Trigon Sports. “When presented with the opportunity to acquire the company, it aligned perfectly with our values and long-term strategic goals. The Proper Pitch brand will continue to be produced with the same dedication to excellence—now proudly within our Memphis facility.”
“We are happy that Trigon Sports is welcoming Proper Pitch Mounds into its family. For more than two decades, we have been proud to align ourselves with Trigon Sports and to share a commitment to quality, integrity, and a family-owned atmosphere. That spirit of collaboration and craftsmanship has been at the heart of Proper Pitch Mounds since I first acquired the business from BP Sports over twenty years ago, and I’m pleased to know that Trigon Sports will continue that legacy,” said Passner, president and CEO of Proper Pitch Mounds. “We are confident that Trigon Sports will uphold the same high standards of manufacturing that have defined Proper Pitch Mounds for so many years, and we are grateful that the close, family-style relationship between our companies will continue as part of the Trigon Sports family.”
“We are proud to welcome Proper Pitch into the Trigon Sports family. This acquisition allows us to uphold Proper Pitch’s long-standing commitment to quality while consolidating production at our Memphis facility,” said Jonathan Bawcum, managing partner of Trigon Sports. “We remain dedicated to providing athletes with reliable products, guided by the same family values and standards of excellence that define our company.”
