Trigger Point Performance Therapy, the maker of performance care and self-massage products, appointed Gavin Whelan as international sales manager. Whelan joins the company from Air Structures International, where he served as the Global Sales Manager and was responsible for international key account management, new international business development, management of ASI Ltd's international strategic marketing partners and the launch of ASI Ltd's affiliate program.
 
“We are very excited to have Gavin join the Trigger Point family,” said Mark Ish, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Trigger Point.  “Gavin comes to us with extensive international sales experience and will be integral to helping us take the next step towards building Trigger Point as a prominent global sales organization.”
 
As International Sales Manager, Whelan will be responsible for the management of Trigger Point Performance's International Sales & Education department. He will work closely with the Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Mark Ish, to help develop and implement new short-term and long-term sales strategies to increase Trigger Point Performance’s profitability and success in international markets. Additionally, Whelan will manage Trigger Point Performance’s current international accounts, while seeking out new distributors and sales channels.
 
Whelan is a former professional soccer player and a product of the world famous Home Farm FC schoolboy club in Ireland. He attended the University College Dublin on a soccer scholarship, where he studied both science and sports management. Immediately following his collegiate years, Whelan played four years of professional soccer with Drogheda United in the Premier Division of the League of Ireland. Whelan currently lives in Dublin with his wife Nikki and son Jayden (5).
