The Tony Hawk Foundation will expand its annual star-studded Activision Presents Stand Up For Skateparks benefit to include an event in Bridgehampton, New York on August 10. This event is the foundation’s exclusive, family-centric, action-sports carnival that features a Vert Demo with Tony Hawk and a cast of top skateboarders and BMX pros on Hawk’s personal ramp, as well as games, food, auctions, and music. Proceeds from Activision Presents Stand Up For Skateparks help create free, quality public skateparks in low-income communities across the U.S.

The August 10, 2008 Activision Presents Stand Up For Skateparks event will take place at the Ross School (Lower Campus) in Bridgehampton, New York. The Benefit Committee includes Tony Hawk, Lance Armstrong, Andre Agassi, Russell Simmons, Rob Dyrdek, Christopher “Big Black” Boykin, Sean “Diddy” Combs, Jamie Lee Curtis, Mia Hamm, Dana White, Jr., Jon Favreau, Mat Hoffman, Shaun White, Bobby Kotick, Bob McKnight, Ron Burkle, and Scott Greenstein.

In addition to the Benefit Committee, past Celebrity attendees include Pam Anderson, Travis Barker, Benicio Del Toro, Fred Durst, Jakob Dylan, Rashad Evans, Flea (Red Hot Chili Peppers), John Fogerty, Patrick Fugit, Kenny G, Leeza Gibbons, Todd Glass, Tom Green, Arsenio Hall, Ed Helms, Kathy Ireland, Anthony Kiedis, Lisa Kudrow, Stefan Lessard, Chuck Liddell, Cindy Margolis, Sal Masekela, Marlee Matlin, B.J. Activision Presents Stand Up For Skateparks is made possible through the support of event guests and sponsors, including Activision, Jeep, NetJets, T-Mobile Sidekick, UFC, Dynacraft, Quiksilver, Maverick Business Adventures, Guitar Hero, DUB, Wasserman Foundation, Kohl’s, FIJI, Tech Deck, Got2b, Birdhouse, Nixon, D.M. Steele Printing, and Bell Helmets.

Through grants and technical assistance, the Tony Hawk Foundation helps communities across the U.S. build free, quality, public skateparks in low-income areas to give at-risk youth access to safe, sanctioned places to skate. With over 13-million skateboarders in the U.S. and only about 2,500 skateparks nationwide, most skateboarders are forced to skate in the streets, in parking lots, and other locations where they’re often not welcome. Public skateparks provide not only a safe place for them to pursue their passion for this healthy, athletic, and creative activity, but also helps them build a sense of community.

The Bridgehampton event is in addition to the foundation’s regular West Coast benefit, which will take place in Beverly Hills, California on November 9.

The Tony Hawk Foundation’s annual event has sold out every year since it launched in 2004. The inaugural Bridgehampton, New York Activision Presents Stand Up For Skateparks event will be limited to 1,000 guests and is also expected to sell out quickly. Tickets and packages are currently available through the event Web site: www.standupforskateparks.org, or by contacting C.C. Flashman at cc@tonyhawkfoundation.org or 760-477-2479.
