Timbuk2, a pioneer of made-in-America customization and industry leading designer of urban gear, has been selected by Citi for their Progress Maker Stories initiative. In conjunction with the release of national advertising, Timbuk2 will celebrate this exciting partnership by launching “Make a Statement,” a platform featured on the Timbuk2 website and in retail stores encouraging people to support urban manufacturing while expressing their personal style.

Progress Maker Stories highlight Citi’s commitment to leveraging the capabilities of the leading global bank to empower its clients to solve the world’s biggest challenges. Timbuk2 is the second largest manufacturer in San Francisco, producing 70,000 custom bags a year in its 23,000 square foot factory and continuously manufacturing in San Francisco’s Mission District since the company’s inception in 1989.

“As our longtime banking partner, Citi has been instrumental in supporting Timbuk2’s growth over the years,” said Timbuk2 COO Tony Meneghetti. “With financing and advice from Citi, we have expanded our product line and established a stronger retail presence in the U.S. and abroad, while also extending the capability of our San Francisco manufacturing facility. Our made-in-America custom bags remain the cornerstone of Timbuk2’s offerings, and we look forward to the next 25 years of manufacturing in the city.”

“Since its founding, Citi has been committed to fueling big ideas and supporting our clients on their journeys from ambition to achievement,” said Gerry Barredo, Citi’s San Francisco Commercial Bank Market President. “We are proud to support Timbuk2, a company that embodies American urban manufacturing, and help them expand their factory and broaden their global reach.”

Timbuk2 will celebrate this exciting milestone by launching “Make a Statement” on www.timbuk2.com, at their retail stores in San Francisco, Denver, Chicago, and Seattle, and at the soon-to-open Toronto and Los Angeles stores.
