For the second consecutive year, The Timberland Company has been named to the list of “100 Best Companies for Working Mothers” by Working Mother magazine.

Companies are selected for the list based on information about their corporate culture, flexibility and policies on work/life and women’s advancement. Applications are scored on details such as the number of work/life programs offered, the employee usage of such programs and the representation of women throughout the company. The list appears in the October issue of Working Mother magazine.

“Timberland is committed to providing its employees and in turn, their families, with programs that support career development and quality of life,” said Jeff Swartz, president and CEO of Timberland. “Our employees are our most valuable asset and as such, we invest heavily in this area to ensure they're able to enjoy their work and their personal life.”

In surveying the companies that applied for this year’s list, particular weight was given to questions in three areas: flexible scheduling, child-care options, and time off for new parents.

“We salute Timberland for their efforts on behalf of working mothers, and for making the 100 Best for the second time,” said Carol Evans, CEO of Working Mother Media. “It is my hope that other organizations will take note of the strides being made by the companies on our list, and will implement more options in recognition and support of this critical segment of America’s workforce.”
