The Timberland Co. is considering relocating its headquarters from Stratham, NH, to Portsmouth, NH, when the lease expires in 2010. Timberland would become the anchor tenant of the Portwalk project scheduled to break ground later this year, according to the seacoastonline.com, the online site for the Portsmouth Herald and the Hampton Union.

Robin Giampa, director of corporate communications for Timberland, confirmed to the website that the Portwalk project is one of the locations the company is considering in the Seacoast. Several other locations are also being considered in the area as well.

“Our lease in our current location is up in 2010, so we need to decide whether to stay, and if we leave, where to go. The Portwalk project is one option, as are properties in other parts of the Seacoast,” said Giampa.

Giampa said Timberland is seeking approximately 160,000 square feet of office space for its 600-person work force. She said the decision on whether to leave 200 Domain Drive, in Stratham, will be made in the next couple of weeks.
