It’s not a triathlon and it’s not an obstacle course – it’s a paddle, run, ride, swim, survive and thrive event.

A trip to paradise where beauty and adventure await you – no, not the plot of “Jurassic Park,” although evading gentically engineered raptors might be easier than what awaits those who undertake the Xplorer Fitness Challenge in Oahu.

In addition to providing fully supported day trips and multi-day trips allowing participants to experience the island, Xplorer Fitness Challenge has launched a singularly demanding experience, the 1-Day Epic Adventure Challenge.

This is not your run-of-the-mill triathlon and it’s not an obstacle course – it’s a paddle, run, ride, swim, survive and thrive event that takes competitors on an island-spanning journey from Pu‘u Manamana to Kahana Bay.

Dates have been announced and several highly respected international competitors as well as local favorites have been invited to spend 8-12 hours racing throughout Oahu on mountain trails, sea kayaks, OCI – Outrigger Canoes and road bikes in the months ahead.

Participants can expect a challenging course and plenty of transitions on a route that will include 4,000 feet of elevation change covering 17-plus miles of overland and nautical distance. The 1-Day Epic Adventure Challenge has been described as a “personal odyssey” and multisport adventure challenge that will redefine endurance sports in Hawaii.

So if you think you’ve got what it takes, space is limited to 10 registrations for each of the following dates in 2017:

  • September 9
  • October 5
  • November 21
  • December 2
  • December 30
