The North Face announced the opening a new retail partnership store in principality of Andorra.

“The rugged terrain of the Pyrenee mountains and the independent spirit of Andorra,” said Patrik Frisk, President – Outdoor & Action Sports EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa)), “perfectly complement the mission and heritage of The North Face brand.”

The North Face said the store will be located within the nation’s first large-scale commercial shopping centre, and opened to the public on July 17.  A bold red column and backlit logo draw the attention of passers-by, while an oversized athlete graphic on the back wall invites them to explore the nearly 130-square meter retail space. A point-of-view merchandising theme allows customers to discover The North Face brand and its technology highlights throughout the store.

“We are thrilled to be opening the premiere dedicated The North Face store in Andorra, and are equally pleased to share the honour with our local retail partner, Viladomat,” stated Francesca Pozzi, retail director of The North Face EMEA. The new store, which features a contemporary blend of raw, industrial design and natural, wooden elements, will launch with marquis products from the Spring 2009 Performance and Summit Series/Approach collections, as well as a preview from the Fall 2009 collections.

Not only is the retail store new, but so also is the commercial shopping centre in which it is housed. Located along one of the most vibrant and vital streets in Andorra, the new shopping mall features 65 different stores, plus multiple entertainment offerings in over 5,000 square meters of space. Constructed with state-of-the art renewable technologies, the shopping centre utilizes solar screens to maximize electricity and minimize its carbon footprint. “As a technologically advanced and eco-conscious brand, The North Face looks to place its new retail shops in sustainably planned buildings like this one,” commented Pozzi.
