The Buckle, Inc. announced that EVP of Stores Kari Smith and SVP of Sales Michelle Hoffman will retire on February 13. Smith will also leave the company’s Board of Directors that day.
The Buckle said Smith and Hoffman “have been a key part of building Buckle’s store experience while developing a culture of leadership and service to teammates and guests.”
Smith, shown top right, began working for The Buckle in May 1978 as a part-time salesperson, advancing through leadership roles over her 47-year career with the company, including being named VP of Sales in May 2001 and EVP of Stores in February 2014. Smith has served on the company’s Board of Directors since February 2018.
Hoffman, shown bottom left, joined The Buckle in August 1979 and similarly progressed through leadership roles over her 46-year career with the company. She was appointed VP of Sales in March 2014 and SVP of Sales in February 2022.
