Terramar Sports, a maker of high-performance base layers, has hired Pico Manufacturing to represent Terramar in department stores and mass merchandisers nationwide.

“Pico Manufacturing is well-known for its knowledge and insight in the underwear business,” said Russ Pitman, VP of sales and marketing for Terramar. “We have 35 years experience of providing quality base layer products to sporting goods retailers. It is great to be able to expand into a new marketplace utilizing Pico’s experience and expertise.”
Pico Manufacturing works with some of the top-manufacturers of sleepwear and loungewear including Hanes, Beverly Hills Polo, Stanley Blacker and Ecko. The company is the largest supplier and marketer of boxer shorts and knit underwear at all retail levels in the U.S. Pico was founded in 1931 and is currently in its fourth generation of ownership.

Terramar developed the Thermasilk line of Chinese pure silk underwear in the early 1970s and since then has focused on a high-performance line of synthetic base layer garments featuring moisture management fabrics. Last year it launched a line of  100% pure merino wool base layer garments under the Thermawool brand. This year, it introduced a high-performance 100% pure silk inner layer, 100% merino wool outer layer collection.
