Tern Bicycles, the Taiwanese maker of e-bikes, cargo bikes and folding bikes, has relocated its corporate headquarters to New Taipei City, Taiwan. The new office brings all the company’s Taiwanese teams, previously spread across multiple buildings, floors, and offices, into one shared workspace.

“Designing this space from scratch allowed us to be deliberate with the layout,” said Josh Hon, team captain at Tern Bicycles. “Here, that meant focusing on how people come together, how ideas move, and how problems get worked through. The result is a workspace shaped less by hierarchy or trend, and more by how we feel people collaborate and stay energized day-to-day.”

The office takes the entire 8th floor of a building in New Taipei City, which will be occupied by 70 Tern employees. The open floor plan centers on the Hub, a large collaborative space. Private bean bag rooms and Zoom pods provide space for brainstorming sessions. The workspace also houses a photo/video studio and an expanded Innovation Lab.

The move also “reflects a preference for an environment that better aligns with Tern’s vision of urban living,” said the company in a media release.

The office is in a new redevelopment zone that prioritizes public transport, pedestrian walkways, bike infrastructure, parks, and green areas. The new building holds a government-issued Green Building certification and incorporates on-site solar power generation.
