Tennis Industry Association reports that overall wholesale shipments of balls ticked up in the first six months of 2015, while wholesale shipments of tennis equipment declined.

About 1.67 million racquets were shipped through the second quarter of 2015, down 8.9 percent compared with the amount shipped in the January-to-June period last year. Youth racquets also were down through the first half, with about 440,000 units shipped, an 11.9 percent decline. Wholesale shipments of tennis strings were down .9 percent, to 1.7 million units.

Overall wholesale ball shipments were up .5 percent in January-to-June 2015, to about 70 million units. Red, Orange and Green ball shipments, however, were down 3.8 percent for the half, to 2.98 million units shipped.
