The TaylorMade Golf Company entered a new three-year agreement with the China Golf Association (CGA) that appoints TaylorMade and Adidas Golf as the exclusive equipment suppliers and the recognized brands of the China National Golf Team.

As such, TaylorMade and adidas Golf will provide the CGA's men's and women's teams with golf clubs, bags, footwear, headwear and accessories. This announcement follows the successful completion of a similar alliance between the TaylorMade Golf Company and the CGA that began in 2007. The new agreement calls for continued cooperation between the organizations to promote and develop golf in China, which is currently the fastest growing golf market in the world.

The new agreement was announced last week in Beijing, where the CGA also named the eleven members of the China National Golf Team, which will compete in the upcoming Asian Games, in Guangzhou. The ceremony was attended by Mr. Zhang Xiao-Ning, Director General of the Multi-Ball Games Administrative Center of the General Administration of Sports of China, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of the China Golf Association; Mr. Li Da-Zheng, Deputy Director General of the Multi-Ball Games Administrative Center of the General Administration of Sports of China, Deputy Director of the China Golf Association; and Mr. David Chin, Managing Director of TaylorMade-adidas Golf for Greater China Area.

“We appreciate TaylorMade Golf for providing equipment to the National Golf Team and promoting the development of golf in this country,” said Zhang Xiao-Ning, “The three-year agreement has proven that TaylorMade Golf is an ideal partner and we are honored to continue this alliance. I believe this sponsorship agreement will not only assist our players in the Asian Games, but also increase the awareness and popularity of this sport in China.”

“It is a pleasure to have the opportunity to extend our partnership with the CGA,” said Chin. “The TaylorMade Golf Company is excited to be supporting the National Golf Team at the Asian Games, and we are convinced that our long-term alliance with the CGA will help drive the game's continued growth throughout China.”

“With golf to be included in the 2016 Olympic Games, we'll be seeing a stronger focus on the identification and development of golf talent in China, and we can look to the National Team to produce China's future golf stars,” said Jason Bierholm, Vice President and Managing Director of TaylorMade-adidas Golf, Region Asia. “We are excited to strengthen our partnership with the CGA so that we can help them grow the game and help their players reach their potential by providing them with the best performance golf equipment and footwear in the world.”
