TaylorMade-adidas Golf (TMaG) and the China Golf Association (CGA) have signed an agreement naming TMaG as the official partner of the China Golf Association and the Chinese National Team.

For the next three years, TMaG will supply China's national team with its top-range golfing equipment and apparel, with TMaG's flagship brands – TaylorMade-adidas Golf and Maxfli – becoming the official brands of the national side. As part of the agreement, TMaG will also make a major financial investment in the development of golf in China by supporting a number of talented young Chinese players.

“We are honored and delighted to confirm this agreement with TMaG as the new sponsor of the China Golf Association and the Chinese National Team. This is a major milestone in the history of the game in this country,” said Mr. Cui Da Lin, Assistant to the General Director of the General Sports Administration of China, and Vice President of the Chinese Olympic Committee.

“Working with TMaG is an ideal partnership for us,” said Mr. Zhang Xiao Ning, Director of the Multi-Ball Games Administrative Center of the General Administration of Sports of China, and Administrative Vice Chairman and Chief Secretary of the China Golf Association. “Every golfer and golf fan will tell you that the TMaG brand represents relentless innovation, creativity and leading edge golfing technology. But, just as importantly for us, TMaG is also deeply committed to developing of the game at grassroots level. With TMaG's support, I have no doubt that both our national team, and the game of golf in China, are teed up for success.”

“We've always said that the yardstick for our success here in China should not be the amount of TaylorMade-adidas golf products we sell,” said Dennis Allen at the signing ceremony. “Rather, our efforts should be measured by the level of meaningful contributions we make to the game of golf in this country.

“We want to be a major player in the creation of a golfing culture around the country. We want to bring our passion for the game to China's sports fans, and we want to help them enjoy the game as much as we do.”

As part of its desire to contribute to the game in China, TMaG has also committed to supporting a number of young, local golfers. Under the agreement, TMaG will provide junior-level talents with the financial and practical backing they need to fulfill their potential.

It may only be 23 years since the first golf course opened in this country, but China already boasts millions of golfers and golf fans, with many more promising young enthusiasts taking up the game every year.

“We hope that through this partnership with the CGA and China¡¯s national team we will soon see a new generation of Chinese golfing talent competing on the world stage and becoming icons for the game in this country,” said Mr. Allen.
