Gore’s Fabrics Division is announcing an extension of its partnership with Formosa Taffeta Company Limited (FTC) to produce certain laminated fabrics for consumer applications.

“We have successfully worked with FTC for more than 10 years,” said Mike McCollam, Gore’s Fabrics global divisional leader.  “This extension of our partnership with FTC, a prominent textile manufacturer, will enable Gore’s Consumer Fabrics business to streamline its’ operations without compromising our quality and also enables Gore Fabrics to focus even more on product innovation.”

McCollam and Vice Chairman Hsie of FTC officially opened the new purpose built manufacturing facility in Douliu, Taiwan on August 30.  They were joined by President Huang from Taiwan Textile Federation and Assistant Vice President Lin from Taiwan Textile Research Institute.

The new FTC plant is a state of the art production facility, dedicated to the production of Gore consumer fabrics and occupies some 3,000 square meters. It contains several new production lines using Gore’s equipment, materials and processes necessary to produce high quality Gore consumer fabrics.

Gore believes this new collaboration with FTC will allow Gore’s Consumer Fabrics greater flexibility to bring to market innovative, high quality Gore products. The business will also benefit from FTC’s industry knowledge and skills which affirm Gore’s Fabrics Division’s commitment as an industry leader to find new ways of delivering value to its brand partners and consumers for many years to come.
