GEM Sport Supply, a seller of firearms, archery equipment and ammunition, operating within Syracuse, NY’s Ra-Lin discount complex for 67 years, announced it will close in March. David Steinberg, a founding family member, is retiring.
Steinberg’s late father, Edward, started the firearms and sporting goods out of Ra-Lin, one of Syracuse’s oldest retail stores, operating out of floor space leased from Ra-Lin since 1959, but it has always been a separate business.
Ra-Lin, located at 625 Burnet Avenue, will use the vacated space to continue operation of the 73-year-old family-owned appliance store.
