Suunto Partners with Runner’s World

Suunto is planning a series of grassroots events at running specialty stores through a new partnership with Runner’s World Magazine. The program targets seven key regions – Texas, California, New York City Metro, Atlanta Metro, Seattle, Chicago and Florida.

Runner’s World provides support for the events through the Runner’s World Race Series program, which offers race directors Suunto branded bibs or race bag inserts for their events. Local running specialty shops are featured on the bibs and inserts, with special offers inviting race participants to try the Suunto training line.

Suunto and its local retailers will have a strong presence at more than 80 events this year, reaching nearly 300,000 runners. This year’s races include small community runs, like The Hound Dog Hustle in Grapevine, TX, to benefit homeless animals, as well as big events like The Carlsbad 5000 – billed as the world’s fastest 5k, with several world records set on the course and a $70,000 prize purse to attract world-class runners among its 15,000 participants.
