Hipcamp, an app for finding and booking campsites, reported having inked a strategic partnership with Sun Outdoors, the U.S. owner and operator of RV resorts and campgrounds.

The deal will bring 100 Sun Outdoors parks, including over 20 Jellystone Parks, to the Hipcamp app, providing consumers with access to a range of U.S. camping experiences, from RV sites and vacation rentals to glamping accommodations with extensive recreational options.

“Over the past decade, the number of active campers in the U.S. has surged by 68 percent (an additional 21.6 million households), with more people seeking comfortable, well-equipped camping experiences,” Hipcamp stated in a media release. “This summer, Hipcamp saw a 20 percent increase in searches for campsites with amenities and a 60 percent year-over-year increase in searches for wifi-equipped sites, along with more interest in full-hookup and family-oriented destinations.”

In May, Hipcamp announced that it had doubled its U.S. inventory to over 500,000 campsites, making the app the largest catalog of campgrounds, RV parks, and camping experiences in the country. With this expansion, Hipcamp claims to become the first app to unify all campsites nationwide.

Last year, Hipcamp acquired BookOutdoors, an online travel booking platform for campgrounds, RV parks, cabins, and glamping resorts.
