Summit Sports, Inc., a Bloomfield Hills-based outdoor recreation and sports retailer, has announced that Trey Rouss has been named general manager for retail stores.  The announcement was made by Steve Kopitz, company “Ski-E-O” and president.

In this position, the Lansing resident will drive and sustain responsible growth in the company's four brick-and-mortar stores and establish the retailer as an active partner in the communities in which it does business. Rouss also will coordinate Summit Sports' lesson programs and annual kayak demos, which are attended by hundreds of kayak enthusiasts a year.

With Summit Sports since November 2004, Rouss previously served as store manager of the East Lansing location.  He also worked as assistant manager for Action Sports at Galyans in Novi.

A member of the American Canoe Association, where he serves as a coastal kayak instructor, he attended Claremont Mesa in San Diego.

With physical multi-category sporting goods shops in Brighton, Keego Harbor and Lansing.  Summit Sports also operates Don Thomas Sporthaus (The Sporthaus), a dedicated ski shop, in Birmingham, Michigan.
