Stio hired Alex Brown as vice president of sales to lead the strategy and development of its wholesale and corporate channels.

As a brand built primarily with a direct-to-consumer sales approach, Stio created the position as a catalyst to tap into new growth opportunities. With over 20 years of experience in sales, growth and brand building in the outdoor industry, Brown is tasked with “shifting operational processes and driving cross-functional strategies to facilitate a more balanced omnichannel business.”

“While we’ve been participating in the wholesale channel with a select group of retailers for a number of years, we’ve built Stio on a predominantly direct-to-consumer platform,” said Noah Waterhouse, Stio president & COO. “We’ve long been big believers in the quality of our industry’s retailers and the question of acceleration has been one of when not if. Bringing Alex on board to drive strategy and execution for long-term, sustainable growth is indicative of our commitment to a more balanced, diverse sales and distribution model. He’s a proven, tenured sales leader, and we’re thrilled to have him join the Stio family.”

Most recently, Brown was vice president of sales at Merrell across the brand’s wholesale channels. Before that role, he was senior sales director at The North Face, working as the sales lead for the brand’s lifestyle channel.
