Stamina Products, Inc. said during its first year of implementing eco-friendly practices in its office and warehouse facility, it reduced paper use by about 66%, water usage by 4%, and used around 10% fewer electric kilowatt hours.

The fitness company said it expects these savings to increase in 2010, and expects to report on further reductions as more initiative results are measured. Some of these initiatives include scrap metal recycling from returned products; air emission reductions due to more fuel efficient shipping; and water, fertilizer, and other grounds keeping resources saved by a more eco-friendly lawn maintenance program.

Because of its environmentally responsible practices, Stamina has become one of only two local businesses to be designated as Ozarks GreenScore Bronze Members. Based on results of its first Ozarks GreenScore assessment, Stamina earned the Bronze Level designation for implementing enviro-conscious procedures. In another local partnership, Stamina is helping retrofit local school buses with emission reducing equipment as part of the Ozark Clean Air Alliance Adopt-A-bus program.

Stamina”s approach to conservation has been to adopt practices that make sense and that make a difference, to use environmentally minded vendors and sustainability experts/programs, and to get employees involved in everyday choices, Stamina is working to promote good stewardship and preservation of our natural resources.
