SquadLocker, an e-commerce company that allows parents, coaches and players to customize sports gear, reported it added 30 production employees in the last 90 days and is currently seeking to add additional management team leadership including VP manufacturing, HR director and merchandise manager roles.

In planning for continued growth in 2017, SquadLocker is actively recruiting to fill multiple shifts with another 50-plus production staffing slots and is quadrupling its investment in production equipment to keep up with record demand from the thousands of teams and youth league programs utilizing SquadLocker’s online tools. The company is also scouting for a second production facility.

The hiring follows triple-digit growth over the last year, supported by recent software releases, including improved Team Gear Store building functionality and user experience enhancements.

“Starting with a blank sheet of paper, Squadlocker has completely rewritten the playbook for e-commerce for teams and fans, and that innovation is being rewarded,” said Thorne Sparkman, managing director of the Slater Technology Fund, which provided early-stage funding for the company. “Sports teams matter, and that’s why Squadlocker is so driven to improve their experiences.”

SquadLocker, which offers a selection of more than 30,000 items from brands such as Under Armour, Champion, Nike, Adidas, Warrior and Badger, recently added Mizuno USA to its mix. It is also adding new gear to the instant Store Builder application every day. SquadLocker said it has become the destination for coaches looking to quickly pick brands and styles, upload a logo and promote and share an instant free online store.

Custom-branded hoodies, tees, polos, footwear and accessories emblazoned with team logos and team colors can be ordered without the hassle of filling out endless forms, collecting checks and handing out gear. Spending less time on these tasks allows volunteer coaches to spend more time teaching and mentoring their young athletes within America’s myriad youth sports.

“We have just experienced our biggest Fall Season because managers and administrators, looking to save time while offering superior performance gear, used our easy-to-use Store Builder software platform to instantly build team micro-sites,” said Todd Grant, president of SquadLocker. “Thanks go to the best employees in Rhode Island and our business model utilizing innovative technology to transform the buying behavior of coaches, league organizers, and parent volunteers who are demanding an easier method of buying decorated team apparel.”
