Spyder Active Sports added Jeff Burkley to its sales teams to focus on  strengthening and servicing Spyder’s uniform program as Resort Uniform Sales Representative. While the majority of his time will be spent in North America, he will oversee global uniform initiatives.

Burkley comes to Spyder with 18 years of sales experience, 10 with the K2 brand and eight with Helly Hansen. He is credited with the launch and generation of Helly Hansen’s uniform program to a high-profile level with major resort clientele.

The new hire aligns with Spyder’s strategy to build its uniform business with a dedicated resort uniform specialist. Burkley comes to the brand with an in-depth understanding of the mechanisms of resort uniform operations.

Not only are on-site retail sales important to resort vitality, resorts are also challenged to lure and retain quality staff. They often leverage employee benefits to draw from the employment pool.

“The resort business is very competitive,” Burkley explained. “Uniform brands must deliver more than just product. They have to compliment the resort’s image, look good on mountain, deliver excellent performance, and get the staff fired up. Consumers look to the on-mountain pros as influence. Spyder’s pinnacle quality and style are on display and will ultimately drive consumers to resort retail.”

Spyder’s Russ Rowan, V.P. sales and marketing, made the strategic decision to add Burkley to the sales department roster. “Spyder is the benchmark for quality and performance. We’re investing in corporate sales resources with a guy like Jeff to be sure we can capitalize on our market position and cover ground in resort service,” he said. “Jeff knows what resorts need to be successful in terms of product, service, and support, and having him on the team allows us to focus on that niche.”

Burkley began his tenure at Spyder on November 16.
