Sports Authority announced the appointment of Fred Argir as the new senior vice president, chief information officer. Argir, who recently served as the vice president, supply chain at Target Corporation, joins Sports Authority with an extensive background in retail experience and wealth of industry knowledge.

During Argir’s tenure at Target, he specialized in Supply Chain development and was responsible for application development of Distribution, Transportation, Merchandise Management and Planning, Merchandise Presentation, Product Design and Development and Business Intelligence. Prior to Target, Fred served as Senior Vice President/Chief Information Officer at Fingerhut Corporation where he strategically assisted in the transformation of this $2 billion company on the verge of dissolution.
