When asked what they would like to receive for Father's Day, 28 percent of dads said they wanted sports equipment. Coming in first was a day with family, at 57 percent, according to  The Harris Poll of 2,225 U.S. adults.

Other categories dads were looking for presents in for the holiday were
electronics/gadgets (37 percent), a gift certificate (37 percent), or a
home cooked meal (36 percent).  Meanwhile around a third are hoping for
pictures of their children/grandchildren (34 percent), a home-made card
(32 percent), tools/power tools (31 percent) and cooking equipment (28
percent).

Less than 9 percent were looking for jewelry and only 7 percent were seeking out a tie.
