Sports Emotion, the Spanish-based parent of the Fútbol Emotion, Basketball Emotion and Running Emotion chains, appointed Carlos Garcia Gracia, formerly chief teamsales officer at Sports Emotion, as CEO.
Carlos Sánchez Broto, co-founder of Sports Emotion, is stepping down as CEO after nearly 10 years in the role.
Garcia Gracia joined Sports Emotion in his latest role in March 2023. Previously, he spent 15 years at Adidas, most recently serving a seven-year stint as a senior manager of sport specialists based in Zaragoza/Aragon, Spain.
News of the appointment was announced in a LinkedIn post from Sánchez Broto, who wrote:
“It’s time to take the next step. A new cycle for a promising new era. Carlos Garcia Gracia, you become the new CEO of our company. And we couldn’t be more proud and excited. You have the full support of the Board of Directors, the management team and the entire great workforce at Sports Emotion. You have brilliantly led the highly complex Teamsports area, leaving your mark on your team and earning the absolute respect of our suppliers. Be true to your values and to yourself, lean on us all when you need it and I’m sure we’ll achieve everything we’ve dreamed of so many times. I will continue to strive, giving my best; and above all, being happy enjoying this journey full of obstacles and joys with my colleagues, friends, and partners. Sports Emotion operates 37 stores, including 30 Fútbol Emotion locations in Spain and Portugal, six under Basketball Emotion in Spain and one Running Emotion location in Madrid.
