SOG Specialty Knives & Tools promoted Patrick Carland to vice president of sales and Chris Cashbaugh to senior director of marketing. Both appointments are promotions to the company’s executive team.

Carland had previously served as SOG’s director of national sales while Cashbaugh was director of marketing.

“The track record Patrick and Chris have established here at SOG made it clear they were ready to take the next step as leaders,” said SOG CEO Joe Mc Swiney. “Both promotions are essential to building the right team to pursue our newly reinvigorated growth strategy.”

A veteran of the outdoor industry, Carland joined SOG in 2014. He has held various leadership roles in brand building, business development, operations and sales with companies as varied as Bamboo Bottle Company, Chrome Industries and Salomon USA.

A long-time industry player, Cashbaugh has been with SOG’s marketing department since 2003. During his tenure he has been instrumental in marketing initiatives as wide-ranging as managing the graphics design team to leading a substantial rebranding effort.

“We begin 2017 by embarking on an ambitious new product direction, particularly with multi-tools and our Made in USA program,” Mc Swiney said. “These new initiatives received an incredible reception at the recent Shot Show, and Chris and Patrick are eager to build upon this momentum.”
