Two years ago, Darren Snyder handed in his apron and spoke wrenches for a chance to climb behind the wheel of a Thule Envoy van and crisscross the Western states to visit Thule retailers, consumer events, and support Thule reps. After shaking hands with over 500,000 consumers, meeting some 1000 shop staffers, and hosting over 400 retail clinics, Snyder has retired from the road to be Thule’s new product manager for bicycle and hitch products.

“Darren brings a wealth of industry knowledge from his years of shop work and the last two years on the road,” said TJ Hanson, VP of Marketing. “He was invaluable in the launch of the Envoy program, but we feel his skills will be best served in his new position.”

Before joining Thule in the winter 2003, Snyder managed the bicycle department at Peak Sports in Corvallis, OR, where he worked for 8 years. Snyder left Peak Sports for a period to work at Control Tech as the Customer Service Manager.

“I look forward to the challenge of creating bicycle and hitch carriers that are worthy of the Thule brand name that provide cyclists with uncomplicated and functional carrying systems,” said Snyder.

Snyder can now be found behind the wheel of a desk at the Thule Inc. headquarters in Seymour, CT where he reports to TJ Hanson.
