Atlas Snow-Shoe Co. and Tubbs Snowshoes will kick off the third annual Snowshoes.com Get Going! Workshops in December in partnership with REI, L.L.Bean and other industry partners.

The workshops provide a detailed clinic for first time and avid snowshoers alike. Attendees are treated to an in-depth overview about snowshoe technology, proper techniques, and resources in their region to help them enjoy the outdoors during the winter. In conjunction with program partners of NiteIze, Marmot, and Backcountry Access, the workshop series offers professional recommendations on how to dress for the outdoors, essential gear, proper snowshoeing techniques, and overall outdoor awareness in a fun and interactive setting.

This season’s Get Going! Workshop series features 13 events at REI locations nationwide and two workshops at the flagship LL Bean store in Freeport, ME.
The upcoming workshop dates include:
  • Dec. 4-Reno, NV
  • Dec. 5-Berkley, CA
  • Dec. 6 & 7-L.L. Bean, Freeport, ME
  • Dec. 9-Bloomington, MN
  • Dec. 10-Seattle, WA

Snowshoes.com helps users find trails for snowshoeing and offers education on the ins and outs behind proper snowshoe fitting and selection. The “Learn” section of the website now features a breadth of resources on everything from what to wear and how to be prepared for cold weather, to tips and tricks and snowshoe games for kids. The site has been updated for the 2013-14 season with new trail mapping technology, mobile accessibility and education on all things snowshoeing.

The workshops are just one facet of the snowshoes.com interactive community created by the two brands, which are owned by K2 Sports, a Seattle-based unit of Jarden Corp.’s Outdoor Solutions segment.
