Smith Optics, owned by Italy-based Safilo Group S.p.A., has appointed Travis Owens as its Southeast regional sales director. Owens will lead the brand’s market presence across Florida, Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas, Texas, and Oklahoma, and also oversee a team of independent sales reps focused on growing Smith’s eyewear division through strategic initiatives and expanded retail partnerships.
“With a deep-rooted career in eyewear, particularly within the angling & watersports markets, Owens brings over three decades of relationships and leadership experience to his new role at Smith,” the company said.
Owens spent over 25 years at Costa Sunglasses in executive-level sales roles, and, in recent years, served as senior vice president of sales at Pure Fishing and Avid Sportswear.
“Owens is poised to continue Smith’s growth in the Southeast market while supporting overall brand strategy with the executive team to increase market presence among fishing consumers,” Smith added.
Owens reports to Darrell Tullis, VP of Sales Operations and Business Development at Smith.
