Smack Sportswear, best known for its volleyball apparel, appointed Christopher Jenks as the chairman of the board, as well as the resignation of Smack CEO Bill Sigler.

Sigler founded Smack Sportswear on the sands of Manhattan Beach, CA in 1994, and has been Smacks CEO since inception. Sigler will remain as a Board member, and will partner with Smack (as an independent distributor) to the hundreds of clubs and schools he has personally serviced over the last 20 years. Ive helped Smack become one of the top volleyball brands in the U.S., but feel now is the time to step aside and let others manage the significant growth we expect over the next few years, stated Sigler.

Also of significance is the appointment of Christopher Jenks as the Chairman of the Board. Jenks has a lengthy resume in the sporting goods/apparel industry. Chris, who earned his MBA from UCLA, and undergraduate degree from Notre Dame, is currently the Chief Marketing Officer for Epic Sports Products, Inc., a global sporting goods manufacturing and marketing company. With over 25 years in the sporting goods industry, Chris has marketing and operating experience with several world class brands including Adidas, Sports Specialties (a division of Nike), Body Glove, and YKK. From 2003 to 2009, Chris was COO of BG Partners, Body Gloves US softgoods (apparel, footwear, bags, related accessories) licensing arm. Prior to Body Glove, Chris was Director of Brand Marketing at Adidas America, responsible for all consumer communications. He was also the Director of Marketing for Agron, Inc., the US licensee of Adidas accessories. Volleyball is my passion, and I believe I can play a significant role in growing Smacks revenues and profits in the near future, stated Jenks.
