Summit Publications, LLC has purchased the iconic Mountain Gazette from Skram Media, which was recently acquired by Active Interest Media. The monthly, regional magazine will join Summit’s other publications: Blue Ridge Outdoors, Elevation Outdoors and Breathe.
Blake DeMaso, president of Summit Publishing said, “When I entered the outdoor publishing business seven years ago, I took a lot of inspiration from the magazine. It is a real honor to add it to Summit Publications’ portfolio.”
The Mountain Gazette will also be a part of Outdoor Adventure Media (OAM), a network of regional grassroots outdoor sports publications, including Adventure Sports Journal, A.T. Journeys, Outdoor Utah Adventure Journal, Outdoors Northwest Magazine, Out There Monthly and Vermont Sports.
The magazine will continue to be published under the direction of long-time editor John Fayhee. Distribution will remain heavy in the mountain regions of Colorado, Arizona, Idaho, Montana, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming.
DeMaso says the Gazette will continue to be published monthly. Future plans include returning the magazine to its previous larger-sized format.
