As triathletes across the globe gear up for the much-anticipated Ironman 70.3 World Championships, Skins Compression announced its latest partnership with Kevin Collington, reigning 70.3 U.S. Pro Champion. Together, Skins will support Collington through the 70.3 mile competition held Sunday, Sept. 8 and beyond by providing the decorated triathlete with the latest technology-driven compression garments known to best support proper muscle function, help prevent injury and aid in active recovery during the most extreme physical conditions.

As a competitive swimmer from an early age through high school, Collington advanced to triathlon while attending the University of Florida where he won the 2007 Collegiate National Championship. After graduation, Collington, with the support of USA Triathlon, joined the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs with the goal of making Team USA for the 2012 London Olympic Games. Although he did not qualify, Collington found his niche in long course racing and has landed accolades since as the second-place winner and highest placing American of the 70.3 Ironman U.S. Championship, runner-up at Florida’s 70.3 and fifth place winner at the Revolution3 Quassy Triathlon, all in 2013.

“As an extreme athlete who competes frequently, I have to perform at my very best while training day in and day out. And optimal recovery is the key to putting my best on the line,” said Kevin Collington, professional triathlete and Skins ambassador. “For this reason, I have been looking to Skins in preparation for the Ironman 70.3 World Championships – the brand’s revolutionary compression and recovery wear has allowed my body to push its limits without injury and be competitive with the world’s best athletes.”

To compete at the elite level as Collington does, triathletes and ultrarunners everywhere continuously challenge their bodies to push the boundaries of performance. This type of extreme fitness requires the premium gear that Skins designs, which promotes optimum performance, injury prevention and active recovery. Skins products are specifically designed to compress muscle groups to trigger acceleration in blood flow. This results in increased oxygen to working muscles, maximizing performance while simultaneously reducing exercise-induced muscle damage, the key factor in speeding up recovery time. Skins clothing is unique in the market because its products are body mapped to compress certain muscles with varying degrees of pressure for superior fit and results.

“We are thrilled to join forces with Kevin not only because of his reputation as one of the best triathletes in the sport, but because his passion, dedication and relentless approach to performance truly align with our brand,” said Johnny West, General Manager of Skins North America. “Leading into the 70.3 World Championships this weekend, we will be cheering for Kevin, who is predicted to be a leader in the competition. It truly gives us at Skins the utmost satisfaction when we can support such a top-notch athlete through the products we engineer.”

Hailing from first Denver and then Orlando, Collington now resides and trains is in Boulder, Colorado. For more information on Kevin and his upcoming competitions, visit: www.kevincollington.com.
