Skins, the Australian compression apparel brand, has established a U.S. subsidiary, Skins North America, to further its commitment to the  market and develop a deeper relationship with retailers and consumer groups.

With new product launches entering the USA marketplace in September 2011, Skins is investing in the newly formed subsidiary in place of a suitable distributor partner.

Skins North America, currently operating out of Carlsbad, CA, will be headed up by Tim McCool. “This is an exciting time for Skins globally and in the USA, as awareness of Skins scientifically proven compression wear is growing rapidly,” says McCool. “Last year saw the successful launch of the revolutionary Skins 400 Series into the USA and with the 200 Series hitting the marketplace in September; we are keen that Skins North America does not miss a beat.”

Skins CEO Jaimie Fuller will also keep a close eye on operations.

“The business move to establish Skins North America illustrates our ongoing commitment to growth in the USA and to becoming the world’s leading compression brand,” Fuller said. “The forthcoming launch of 200 Series is a global commitment to compression sportswear for men and women with all the proven benefits of Skins engineered gradient compression and a contemporary, fresh look that will appeal to a wider consumer audience.”
