Sisu Mouthguard will become the official mouthguard of U.S. Lacrosse and Team USA.

“With safety at the forefront of concern across the sport of lacrosse, we’re excited to begin this partnership with Sisu Guard,” said Susie Chase, vice president of philanthropy and partnerships for U.S. Lacrosse. “The Sisu Mouthguard is a best-in-class product for our national team athletes, and lacrosse players of all ages, and we appreciate the commitment to U.S. Lacrosse in helping us grow the sport.”

Sisu Mouthguards are 1.6 millimeter thin protective dental shields, made from a non-compressible, perforated, re-moldable thermal polymer. Powered by Diffusix technology, Sisu Mouthguards deflect impact forces and absorb shock.

“From the moment we attended our first tournament, it became clear that Sisu Guards were not only welcome, but absolutely essential in lacrosse,” said Sassa Akervall, CEO and majority owner of Akervall Technologies, the makers of the Sisu Mouthguard. “With improved communication and better endurance, our guards have become the go-to brand for lacrosse athletes nationwide. The experience and network of the US Lacrosse team and their commitment to growing the sport is what makes them the ideal partner. We’re excited to become their official mouthguard, and, through this partnership, bring higher safety standards and better communication to the lacrosse community.”

As a part of the partnership Sisu will also be contributing to U.S. Lacrosse grant programs including the First Stick program and Diversity & Inclusion initiatives.

Headquartered in Saline, MI, Akervall Technologies, Inc (ATI), the makers of Sisu Mouthguards, was awarded Michigan’s Top 50 Companies to Watch in spring of 2014, and also won the Advanced Material track at Accelerate Michigan Innovation Competition two years in a row.
