Simple Shoes has teamed up with the Stop Global Warming Virtual March to develop a special StopGlobalWarming.org edition of the Toepeeka flip-flop for men and women. The Toepeeka is a part of Simple Shoes' Green Toe premier collection of sustainable footwear and accessories.

The StopGlobalWarming.org edition of the Toepeeka
flip-flop will retail for $65.00 and will be available at SimpleShoes.com, StopGlobalWarming.org, and retailers nationwide.

The StopGlobalWarming.org edition of the Toepeeka features the StopGlobalWarming.org logo printed on 100% organic cotton. The Toepeeka is also made with ecologically-friendly materials, such as; water-based glues, jute footbed, bamboo lining, and an outsole made from a recycled car tire.

To lessen the ecological footprint from packaging, the flip-flops will come in a bio-degradable bag made from corn-starch. Tips for what an individual can do to reduce their own carbon emissions are printed on the inside strap. They read, “Change a light bulb – Using a compact florescent light bulb saves 150lbs of carbon dioxide a year” and
“Stop Idling – After 10 seconds you'll waste 10% less by turning the ignition off.”

In celebration of Earth Day 2007, this program will launch online at SimpleShoes.com and StopGlobalWarming.org in April. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the will benefit StopGlobalWarming.org.

Founded by Laurie David, John McCain and Robert F. Kennedy Jr, StopGlobalWarming.org has galvanized over 600,000 individual marchers including leading scientists, entertainers, athletes, political and religious leaders, and corporations who are concerned about the overheating
of the planet and have united to urge government to find solutions to the growing and imminent danger of global warming.
