Silent Steel USA has tapped former U.S. Navy SEAL Justin Sheehan to join the company as VP of Combat Capabilities & Law Enforcement Programs. Sheehan reportedly brings an extensive background in special operations, combat medicine, marksmanship, and advanced training, which is expected to directly support the company’s focus to advance suppressor performance for America’s warfighters and law enforcement professionals.
Born and raised in Prescott, MI, Sheehan grew up farming, hunting, fishing, trapping, and competing in sports. In 2005, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy with a SEAL and Hospital Corpsman contract and graduated from BUD/S in 2007. He served with SEAL Team 2, deploying to Iraq and Afghanistan, where he earned the Bronze Star with Valor for combat actions in Afghanistan.
In 2012, Sheehan was selected to attempt the Naval Special Warfare Development Group (SEAL Team 6) selection, completing the process in 2013. He conducted multiple deployments in and around the Horn of Africa. His primary roles included Assaulter, Sniper/Point Man, Combat Medic, and Pashtun Language Specialist.
After separating from the Navy, Sheehan completed a Bachelor of Science degree from Grand Valley State University and founded Carcajou Resilience Group (CRG), a training company focused on resilience development through Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and firearms instruction. Since 2021, he also served as a regional sales director for Kuiu Ultralight Hunting.
“We are honored to welcome Justin to Silent Steel USA,” said company Founder and CEO Joe Shaffer. “His operational background and firsthand experience in high-risk environments will be invaluable as we continue developing suppressors and systems built for real-world performance. Justin understands the needs of the end user, and that perspective strengthens our mission.”
In his new role, Sheehan is expected to lead combat capability initiatives, contribute to product development and expand the company’s partnerships with law enforcement and military professionals nationwide.
“Joining Silent Steel USA is an opportunity to directly support those who depend on their equipment when it matters most,” said Sheehan. “I’m looking forward to applying my experience to help shape innovative products for the people who rely on them every day.”
