Sierra, the outdoor off-price retailer owned by TJX. Cos. plans to open its first store in Alabama on March 28 in Hoover at Hoover Riverchase Crossing Shopping Center.
The location’s address is 1771 Montgomery Highway.
“We are excited to bring Sierra to the amazing Hoover community and are thrilled to expand our footprint to the state of Alabama,” stated Jill Tully, VP of Marketing at Sierra, in a media release. “We believe being active can look different for everyone. At Sierra, we celebrate the many ways people move in their everyday lives — from outdoor adventures to daily routines.”
Sierra recently announced plans to open its 150th store in Casper, WY, on April 2.
TJX, which acquired Sierra in 2012, has ramped up the concept’s expansion in recent years, opening 28 stores in 2025, 22 stores in 2024, 17 in 2023, and 19 in 2022. The company closed 2025 with 145 stores.
