Sierra Designs has hired Stephen Barnes, a longtime veteran of the outdoor industry, to drive growth through pioneering product creation.
Barnes has extensive experience in product strategy and development, most recently as the president and founder of Barnestorm Product Solutions, where he worked with clients on brand messaging and product launches, as well as assisting startups with creating business plans. He also served as a product development manager with Osprey Packs, where he helped grow business tenfold during his tenure. In addition, Barnes has worked in product creation with iconic outdoor brands CamelBak and The North Face.
“Sierra Designs has always benefited from a visionary product development team, and to bring on someone of Barnes’ caliber will push the brand even further ahead,” says Eric Greene, Division VP and General Manager of the Exxel Outdoors Performance Group. “Not only does he have the design chops to lead a team, he has a proven passion for the outdoors as a former rafting and mountaineering guide and wilderness first aid responder.”
