The SIA.06 Show got a jump start on Day 2 with the announcement of the SnowSports Industries America (SIA) Retailer of the Year awards.

Just before the doors opened to Day 2 of SIA.06, Diane Boyer-Irwin, SIA Chairwoman and Dick Leffler, Past Chairman presented the award for “2006 Retailer of the Year” in the show’s main lobby. It has been nearly 10 years since SIA awarded retailers with this honor, and the association felt it was time again to recognize the people who play an integral role in sustaining the viability of the snow sports industry. The following retailers were chosen based on votes submitted by SIA member companies and reps: 


New England		–	Bill Langlands of Darkside in Killington, VT 
Mid-Atlantic 		– 	Ray Fallon of Ski Barn in Paramus, NJ
South East  		–	Grant & Nancy Essex of Rocky Mountain Sports in Atlanta, GA
Mountain Region 	– 	Gary & Jana Cole of Cole Sports in Park City, UT
Pacific Region 		– 	Mary Weneta of Bobo Mogul Mouse in Reno, NV
North Central (tied)	–	Bart & Terri Pierce of Pierce Skate & Ski in Bloomington, MN
					Bob & Nancy Olson of Viking Ski Shop in Mt. Prospect, IL
South Central		–  	Ryan Meyer of St. Bernard Sports in Dallas, TX
