SnowSports Industries America (SIA), a non-profit organization that aims to help the winter sports industry thrive, will host its third annual Industry + Intelligence educational program during this year’s SIA Snow Show at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver, CO.

Industry + Intelligence will kick off on January 25, 2017 with a daylong event that brings together inspirational leaders of the snow sports industry to network, share market intelligence, discuss pressing topics and engage in conversations that energize the industry leading into the annual Snow Show. Seminars will continue throughout the Snow Show, offering both in-person and virtual sessions.

Nearly 35 sessions will take place throughout the 2017 SIA Snow Show, covering five core intel tracks – State of the Industry, Research, Retail Landscape, Marketing & Social Media and Business Development. The seminars will be highlighted by a lunch co-keynote presentation by Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper and SIA President Nick Sargent on January 25, 2017. The keynote will address the opportunities ahead for the industry, along with the role of SIA and its partners.

“It’s a pivotal year for the SIA Snow Show, as we work to revamp many of the organization’s initiatives, all stemming from a new mission and vision,” said Sargent. “Industry + Intelligence is the piece of the Snow Show that ensures the entire industry is on the same page, openly discussing trends and engaging in constructive conversations to improve the critical mass of the winter sports business. And we are thrilled to welcome Governor Hickenlooper to a discussion that will address many of the pressing topics and opportunities that the snow industry faces.”

This year’s panel discussions will address such topics as cultivating new industry talent and resources for small business. They will feature such guest speakers as trend expert Jessica Kaplan and Issa Sawabini, owner of Fuse Marketing, who will speak to the newsworthy topic of millennial parents and snow sports. Also presenting will be SIA Research Director Kelly Davis, who brings 25 years of research and intelligence expertise.

“We’re working in a fast-paced industry that is constantly evolving, and one of the key ways to stay ahead of the change is by utilizing insights, data and intelligence,” said Davis. “At SIA, we offer in-depth data and reporting, and this year, Industry + Intelligence will highlight snow sport consumer and retail trends in hardgoods and softgoods, as well as an overview of the different snow sport consumer identities and how to cater products and services to appeal to the consumer base, and ultimately grow participation.”
