SnowSports Industries America (SIA) announced the winners of the 2010 SIA U.S. SnowSports Regional Retailer of the Year Award. In its fifth year since inception, SIA received more than 1,200 nominations for this accolade from snow sports reps and retailers in the industry nationwide.
Within seven regions, they were asked to vote for the retailers they felt most deserving. The 2010 winners are:
- New England: East Coast Alpine, Danvers, MA
- Mid-Atlantic: Buckman's Ski Shop, Pottstown, PA*
- Southeast: Freestyle, Charlottesville, VA
- Mountain: Cole Sport, Park City, UT
- South Central: Neptune Dive and Ski, Nashville, TN
- North Central: Joe's Ski Shop, St, Paul, MN*
- Pacific: Sturtevant's, Bellevue, WA
*Acknowledged in 2008 with a SIA U.S. SnowSports Regional Retailer of the Year award for their respective territories.
The 2010 Retailer of the Year Awards will be given out during the 2011 SIA Snow Show in Denver, CO, at the Annual Awards Ceremony on Friday, January 28 at 6P in the CSCUSA Central Food Court & Lounge, located on the Show floor. Each winner will receive an award to recognize their commitment to the industry, as well as a one year SIA Retailer Membership and $150 American Express Gift Card.
The SIA U.S. SnowSports Retailer of the Year Award is based upon a shop's contribution to the growth of the snow sports industry, its promotional and marketing techniques and its success in the ski, snowboard, tele, cross country and/or snowshoe marketplace. The award winners are nominated and selected by suppliers and reps in the snow sports industry.
