ShopKo Stores, Inc. reported consolidated sales for the four weeks ended March 1, 2003 were $215.6 million, 1.3 percent lower than the $218.5 million reported for the same period last year. Consolidated comparable store sales declined 1.2 percent.

2003 Business Outlook
For the month of March 2003, the Company expects to be negatively impacted by the Easter holiday shift and expects consolidated comparable store sales to be in the negative high single digit range. The Company believes combining the months of March and April will provide a more meaningful comparison and will provide additional consolidated comparable store sales guidance in its fourth quarter/year end conference call March 13, 2003.
