Shock Doctor implemented organizational changes within the footbed division meant to reaffirm the company’s commitment to the U.S. footbed market. Effective immediately, Evan Wert will take over as Vice President of Sales and Marketing from Jay Turkbas who has been promoted to Vice President of Product Development for all divisions. Wert will have overall responsibility for domestic and international sales including the development of sales strategies and programs as well as dealer relations. Kirsten Carpenter will assume the new position of National Inside Sales Manager. Both positions will be run from a new satellite office based in Bellingham, Washington.

In making the announcement, Steve Washburn said, “The reshuffling of responsibilities and the addition of Evan to our management team will allow us to break new ground for footbed technology. We intend to take advantage of his experience and contacts to help us continue innovating and expanding.” Turkbas added that, “I welcome the opportunity to work with Evan while relinquishing the day to day responsibilities of the important footbed market, giving me the time I need to continue product development in all segments of Shock Doctor.”

Wert’s experience in the footbed business spans over 22 years. He was most recently with Superfeet Worldwide where he spent 12 years as the Director of Sales and Marketing, playing a key role in the company’s steady growth. Previously he was co-owner of The Inner Boot, one of the first custom fit ski boot shops in the U.S. and co-pioneer for several other footbed brands. Evan also brings extensive retail management experience to the table. “I look forward to helping develop new products and spearheading sales,” stated Wert. “The company has huge potential and I’m glad to be a part of it.”

Kirsten comes from a four year stint in the sales department at Superfeet Worldwide, where she headed up research and development of the company’s soccer business and was instrumental in handling key accounts.
