Sentry Products Group, a manufacturer and distributor of products focused on protection, storage and transportation of outdoor, military and law enforcement equipment, will open a new production facility located in Boise, ID.

The facility will support U.S. manufacturing, global sourcing and distribution of Virginia Beach, VA-based Sentry’s portfolio of products. “Boise, Idaho was an easy choice as we had operated a similar facility in this area during our Blackhawk days,” stated Terry Naughton, president, Sentry.

As part of the expansion, Sid Gray joined Sentry’s executive team as vice president – manufacturing operations. Gray’s prior experience includes engineer and management roles at both Blackhawk and Michaels of Oregon. Additionally, he worked as director of continuous improvement and engineering efforts at numerous locations with ATK/Vista Outdoor.

“I am excited to be part of Sentry Products Group,” said Gray, “I’m back working with a team that I trust, and I have been given the opportunity to design this facility from the ground up using Lean principles to maximize employee engagement and process improvement.” The new facility is familiar to Gray, as he worked in this location with Michaels of Oregon (Uncle Mike’s) from 1999 to 2004.

“The investment in this facility supports the new product line additions and will allow for a full complement of production staff,” stated Naughton. “What we are most proud of is creating jobs right here in the U.S.A. and bringing our production team members back together again.”
