SealLine Sells SmartTrack

Cascade Designs’ SealLine subsidiary has sold the SealLine SmartTrack rudder system to Smart Track LLC, a corporation that specializes in Kayaks, and rudder systems. SealLine’s primary business has revolved around dry bags and accessories for rafting, canoeing and paddle sports in its Seattle manufacturing plant.

Rick Klug, specialty sales manager at Cascade Designs told BOSS that Cascade Designs is not abandoning the kayak accessories market, and the company will still continue to research and develop new innovative products in areas where it makes sense for their business.

Andrew Dove is the owner of Smart Track LLC, and he will be taking over all distribution, slaes and warranty for the SmartTrack line. Reportedly he will be using the design as OEM parts for We-no-nah/Current Designs, and as an add on accessory for consumers.

SealLine Sells SmartTrack

SealLine has sold the SealLine SmartTrack Rudder Control System to Smart Track LLC, an Illinois corporation. Originally created by SealLine in 2001, the SmartTrack Control System is an advanced foot brace and rudder system for sea kayaks.

SealLine continues to manufacture dry bags and accessories for rafting, canoeing and paddle sports in its Seattle manufacturing plant.

“The SmartTrack System is hands down the best one on the market. There was a very talented team behind the invention of it,” said Erik Flink, SealLine Brand Manager. “But as we build on our product successes in gear protection and continue to expand to meet customer demand, the system is increasingly outside of our realm both brand-wise and on the manufacturing floor. We’re delighted to find such a qualified buyer that can really focus on the Smart Track’s assets.”
