Sea to Summit, the outdoor brand based in Perth, Western Australia, has appointed outdoor industry veteran Jon Hanson to serve as president of its North America business. Hanson made the announcement in a LinkedIn post.

“After an incredible chapter at Stanley 1913, it’s time to begin the next one,” Hanson said in his post. I’m grateful for the experiences, relationships, and lessons along the way. It was a privilege to work alongside such a talented team and help drive the growth of an iconic brand with deep heritage. I’m thankful for the people and partnerships that shaped my time there – and proud of what we accomplished together.”

Hanson shared that Sea to Summit is a brand that he has long admired for its innovation, authenticity, and deep connection to the outdoor community. He has proven to be a good judge of brands based on his 20+ years experience in sales and management in the outdoor space.

“I’m energized by the opportunity to work with this team and help build the next phase of growth in North America,” he added.

Hanson has served as the general manager of North America for Stanley 1913 since March 2023. Prior, he spent over six years at Amer Sports, as U.S. sales director working with the company’s outdoor brands, including Arc’teryx and Salomon. Hanson was at Mountain Hardwear for three years as a regional sales manager after building a strong resume at Columbia Sportswear over an eight year period and elevating to key account manager.

Founded in 1990 by Roland Tyson, the company established its roots in Australia, where it still operates its main headquarters. The brand also operates a North American headquarters and warehouse in Broomfield, Colorado, which opened in March 2024.

Tracy Brunz, who previously served as general manager for North America, left the company in 2024 and was replaced in that role by Chris Sword who assumed the seat in early 2025. Hanson now joins Aaron Baker, who joined the company as senior sales director for North America in spring 2025.
