Mica Sports has become the exclusive distributor of Scott bicycle products for Canada. The SCOTT cycling brand will be represented at the Montreal BTAC bicycle trade show this fall. Distribution of a limited number of SCOTT bicycles will begin this week to fill back orders of a very selective number of retailers to expose the market to the merits of SCOTT bicycles.

Lutz Brode, President said, “Over the years I have had the opportunity to witness the phenomenal growth of SCOTT bicycle products in the world market. Since last year’s re-introduction of Scott bicycle products into the U.S. marketplace, we have had an overwhelming amount of interest from dealers hoping to be a part of this growth. I am particularly excited with the opportunity of introducing SCOTT’s revolutionary Genius technology to the Canadian Market. SCOTT bicycle products represent innovation and quality, we are proud to represent Canada in the worldwide growth of this company.”

Scott Montgomery said, “This is a natural next step in our carefully planned systematic rollout in North America. After our announcement one year ago we were deluged with requests from Canadian retailers, sales personnel, and distributors who were interested in selling SCOTT bicycle products in Canada. After carefully considering all the options we felt the experience of Lutz Brode and his successful company was the best way to properly service Canadian retailers.”

Beat Zaugg, President of Scott Sports, said, “Lutz has done an outstanding job with distribution of SCOTT wintersports products for many years. His perspective and success in building partnerships with key specialty retailers has enabled him to establish SCOTT as the leading brand in Canada. With the addition of key cycling staff we fully expect he will do the same in the future and look forward to continuing our partnership long into the future.”

Derek Lee, owner of Calgary Cycles said, “We are ecstatic to get a limited supply of 2005 SCOTT bikes delivered for this season which is just hitting stride. We have customers who have put down cash deposits that will finally get a chance to ride the bike of their dreams.”
