Schutt Sports will serve as the exclusive sales representative for Impact Protective Equipment's new football shoulder pad. The shoulder pad, worn last season by leading NFL athletes, will make a general-market splash this summer as high school and college teams discover two important product advantages: the Impact pad wicks away perspiration which allows for evaporative cooling effects, and its materials are lighter and stronger providing greater protection on impact.

The alliance with Impact Protective Equipment provides Schutt Sports with arguably the biggest news in football protection equipment for the second consecutive year. Last year, Schutt launched the Schutt DNA(tm) helmet, a state-of-the-art football helmet that currently is a finalist for Sports Edge Sports Product of the Year. This year, Schutt partners with Impact Protective Equipment's shoulder pad and its revolutionary features to distribute the high performance gear during Impact Protective Equipment's first year of availability to players.

“We are constantly raising the bar by delivering smarter protective gear that is more comfortable and designed to enhance player performance,” Schutt Sports President Julie Nimmons said. “Like our recently launched Schutt DNA football helmet, the Impact pad uses new-to-the-game materials. These materials are not only innovative, but proven in military and NASA settings.”

The Impact pad uses space-age technology to absorb, transfer, and eliminate moisture and heat; and it is lighter, stronger, and allows greater mobility than any other shoulder pad on the market. Schutt Sports' network of 300 sporting goods dealers has already begun selling Impact pads to high school, college, and professional teams.

“We chose to work with Schutt Sports because of their outstanding reputation in the industry,” says Mark Monica, CEO of Impact Protective Equipment. “Schutt is the leader when it comes to innovative design and new technology that is available. The marriage between Schutt and Impact was a natural fit, and the football player is the one who will ultimately benefit.”
